We are pleased to announce that a new Editor-in-Chief has been appointed to strengthen leadership of Med One
journal starting from October 1st, 2018.
Dr. William G. Mayhan is currently a Professor and the Dean in the Division of Basic Biomedical Sciences at the
Sanford School of Medicine at the University of South Dakota. He has been the Chair of Cellular Biology and
Anatomy at the LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport and the Vice-Chair for the Department of Cellular and
Integrative Physiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. His area of expertise is the cerebral circulation
during health and disease. He has played a leadership role in many societies, has served on numerous study
sections and editorial boards, and has had continuous funding for his research from a variety of extramural funding
agencies for the past 30+ years. He has published 192 papers which have been cited 6,119 times according to
Scopus profile with an h-index of 46.
Professor William G. Mayhan hopes to work closely with Executive Editor-in-Chief Professor Xianquan Zhan and
200+ board members of Med One to improve the journal and bring it to the next level. We appreciate all board
members’ continuous support and effort to enhance the journal quality. We are confident that the journal will
become a preferred journal in the field under Professor William G. Mayhan and Professor Xianquan Zhan’s
leadership together with the support of all board members.
Furthermore, we are recruiting Section Editors-in-Chief in various field of biomedicine to support Editor-in-Chief’s
